Corn, Soybeans Plunge as Rain May Aid U.S. Crops Hurt by Midwest Dry Spell

(Bloomberg) -- Corn plunged the maximum allowed by
the Chicago Board of Trade and soybeans fell from a three-year
high on speculation that rains will help to replenish Midwest
soil moisture after two months of unusually hot, dry weather.

the driest parts of Nebraska, South Dakota and Iowa may receive
up to 1 inch beginning on July 18, said John Dee, president of
Global Weather Monitoring in Mohawk, Michigan.
