(Reuters) - The discussions aimed at a potential resolution to the investigation are in preliminary stages and could result in the payment of fines or a change in business practices, Biomet said in a federal filing.
Biomet received subpoenas in March 2005 relating to consulting agreements the companies make with surgeons, including contracts for surgeons to teach other doctors how to use its devices.
