(Bloomberg) -- South African shares advanced, led by
Anglo American Plc and BHP Billiton, the world's largest mining
companies, amid speculation industry takeovers will increase.
The FTSE/JSE Africa All Share Index added 173.06, or 0.6
percent, to 28,802.44 as of 10:09 a.m. in Johannesburg as 81
stocks gained, 24 declined and 55 were unchanged.
