(Bloomberg) -- Brazil's main stock index rose for a
second day, by miner Cia. Vale do Rio Doce, the world's biggest
iron ore and nickel producer.
The Bovespa index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange rose 449.87, or 0.8 percent, to 56,806 at 9:36 a.m. in New
York.
