(Reuters) - WASHINGTON, June 6 - New York Attorney General
Andrew Cuomo urged Congress on Wednesday to legislate a
clean-up of the student loan industry, including the
fast-growing private loan market.
"I urge Congress to enact stringent legislation to clean up
all of the student loan industry," Cuomo said in remarks
prepared for delivery to a Senate Banking Committee hearing on
allegations of widespread conflicts of interest and improper
payments in the student loan business.
