(Bloomberg) -- Japanese stocks advanced, sending
the Nikkei 225 Stock Average to a seven-year high.
Semiconductor-related companies such as Elpida Memory Inc.
gained on speculation profit will grow after prices of dynamic
random access memory, or DRAM, surged.
Tokyo Electron Ltd., the world's second-biggest supplier of
chipmaking equipment, jumped the most in a month.
